Chicago, IL, USA — June 15, 2009 - Novarra, the Internet MobilityTM Company, announces its Mobile Internet Experience Update, the first in an ongoing series. This benchmark report is a broad overview of how consumers access and use the internet via mobile phones with Novarra’s VisionTM browser and mobile internet platform. Two thirds of US mobile phone users and one quarter of all users globally have access to some form of mobile internet service via the Novarra platform today - perhaps without even realizing Novarra is behind their mobile internet experience.
The report is based upon Novarra’s vast network of deployments with leading operators and service providers and provides unique insight to better understand and serve existing mobile internet customers and attract new ones. Highlights include:
- Data from the broadest aggregation of mobile internet usage covering 50,000+ browser/handset profiles accessing millions of mobile and full web sites through Novarra’s network of deployments around the world
- Reporting segregated by five profiles based upon different classes of users with distinct mobile preferences and behaviors
- Analysis and insights covering mobile internet sessions, data usage and types of sites frequented
- Important issues spanning all profile groups related to handsets, markets and user behaviors
“It is critical for mobile operators, handset manufacturers and internet brands to understand, for instance, how up-market business users vary from tech-savvy kids, always-connected young adults or budget-conscious consumers in order to provide a satisfying mobile internet experience,” comments Scott Cotter, Sr. Director, Marketing. “Novarra understands and is uniquely able to share these findings with the industry.”
In upcoming issues, the Update will identify and highlight new and emerging trends as well as other aspects of mobile internet behavior and usage - all aspects of the mobile browsing experience that operators and other audiences should consider when assessing the mobile internet market.
