3 Macau Launches Mobile Internet Service with Novarra
Fast, Rich Web Available on 70+ Handsets
Chicago, USA (December 5, 2007) - Novarra, the leading provider of next-generation mobile internet platforms and services, today announces that Hutchison Telephone (Macau) Company Limited (”3 Macau”) has launched its innovative high speed mobile internet service, 3Xplorer, powered by Novarra’s VisionTM platform. Leveraging its ‘Turbo 3G’ 3.6Mbps network, the 3Xplorer service enables 3 Macau’s customers to access the breadth of rich internet content anytime, anywhere. The Vision platform enabled 3 Macau to launch a high quality PC-like internet experience with superb speed and mobile usability. The launch follows Novarra’s successful deployments over the last 18 months by other 3 Group operations demonstrating mobile internet service has strong consumer uptake with increased data usage.
The 3Xplorer service is offered in Chinese and English on over 70 of 3 Macau’s wide range of 3G handsets. The application is pre-installed on a number of handsets and available via download from the Planet 3 portal with a monthly service fee of only MOP28.
The service provides a fast and intuitive internet experience delivered by Novarra’s Vision platform which is designed specifically for mobile networks and handsets. The feature-rich service also includes Novarra’s customized Mobile DashboardTM which enables consumers to get ‘one-click’ access to popular Chinese web sites as well as email and search functions. The service has been deployed using the Vision server in conjunction with Novarra’s suite of Java micro-clients which offer superior speed, usability and personalization. Novarra’s open standards platform enabled fast and efficient billing integration with 3’s mobile payment platform.
